On a Mac that belongs to the trader, installing is the route that pays back. The layout is stored locally, the terminal opens as it was left, and there is no sign-in to a browser session before charts appear. That suits someone who works from the same laptop most days.
On a machine issued by an employer, or one borrowed for an afternoon, the browser platform is the better fit. It runs in Safari, adds nothing to the computer, and finishes when the session is signed out, which avoids the question of what may or may not be installed on company hardware.

Switching between them mid-week changes only how the charts are drawn on screen; the positions, the history and the settings held by the platform are identical either way, which means the choice can be made once, reversed later, and never has to be treated as a permanent commitment to one machine.
